So much peace

Editorial

2026, Summer

US advisors participating in military raids in Ecuador. Nearly 200 fishermen (some of whom may have moonlighted as smugglers) murdered in the waters off the Venezuelan coast. Dozens dead in U.S. concentration camps—some murdered by guards, others by withholding medical care. (ICE confiscated the body of a person killed in one incident, refusing to release it to the local coroner because he ruled that the last corpse he received was the victim of murder by ICE guards.) A Quisling regime installed in Venezuela under US military supervision. Bombs raining down in Gaza, Iran and Lebanon. At least three U.S. citizens shot dead in the streets this year by government thugs. With all this peace breaking out around the world, Trump surely has proved that he’s every bit as worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize as Henry Kissinger was.

The U.S. has by far the largest military in the world, and one which has for many, many years rained down terror on hospitals, schools, and also some brutal thugs. It deliberately murders people, including several citizens. It routinely commits war crimes, and is now threatening new war crimes on a scale not seen since World War II.

It endangers not only the rest of the world, but as can be clearly seen in the current U.S.-Israel war on Iran and Lebanon, inflicts serious harm on workers in the United States as well. If politicians did not have this enormous killing machine at their disposal they could not inflict this terrorism regardless of their homicidal tendencies.

We can’t afford this global rain of death. It undermines the security of everyone on the planet.
